W.R. Case Announces New Collector Appreciation Event in 2008

Bradford, PA (December 21, 2007) – W.R. Case & Sons has announced a new two-day event scheduled for next summer, designed to pay tribute to the thousands of enthusiasts who collect Case knives. The inaugural Case Collector Appreciation Weekend will take place in Bradford on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, 2008.

Many of the same activities normally associated with past Zippo/Case Swap Meets will be offered during Case Collector Appreciation Weekend, including factory tours, knife appraisals, demonstrations, fun games and contests, special sales and more. Guests and local residents may attend a collector’s auction scheduled for Friday evening outside the Case factory, which will offer several one-of-a-kind collectables (hand-crafted by Case artisans) to registered bidders. Case personalities, honorees and special guests will be in attendance.

“Attendees can also look forward to many brand new, fun and exciting Case-themed activities planned throughout the weekend,” says Lisa Boser-Miller, Administrator of the Case Collectors Club, “like a Job Case look-a-like contest and a special dedication inside the Zippo/Case Museum on Friday morning.” Mrs. Miller goes on to say, “We’re going to kick off Appreciation Saturday with a ‘200 Club’ event accompanied by a homestyle breakfast bonanza, complete with eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits, coffee, juice, and yes, even grits!”

Case officials say their goal is to make this event a new and permanent tradition in Bradford.

“Having a big event every few years allows everybody to reconnect and share the passion of collecting Case knives,” says Tom Arrowsmith, President and CEO at Case. “We think the weekend we have planned for this first Case Collector Appreciation event will be tremendously exciting for our Associates, our community, and our most dedicated fans…our collectors. With their help, this event will only get better as time goes on.”
